VCM Network was founded my Robert E. Martin in 2000 as an IT research and development concern. At that time, the primary focus was on interactive disruptive technologies for consumer facing internet applications and appliances. The acromyn "VCM" originally stood for "Virtual Concierge Machine". Our R&D focus was on developing the network and end-user devices that would bring convenience to everyday life by making it easier to plan daily and execute activities outside the home; much like that of a hotel conceirge. We are recycling the acroym to mean "Virtual Communication Machines". In 2007, the realities of the financial markets to fund research on conceptual technologies and heighten attention to homeland security led to the redeployment of resources towards commercial and residential video surveillance applications. We sell and install digital and IP based video surveillance solutions in the Greater Chicago Metropolitan Area and Northwest Indiana.

In November of 2009, it came to our attention that CLEAR™; WiMAX was coming to the Chicago area. The prospects of Wi MAX began years earlier as many cities across the United States considered building out large wireless broadband networks to serve the general public. All of these efforts slowly dissipated as they grappled with the cost of deploying and maintaining these networks. CLEAR™; WiMAX emerged as the forerunner for the offering of wireless broadband access to the general public. VCM Network immediately became and subscriber and subsequently an authorized representative.

Towards the end of 2009, we added business and home network solutions. Robert E. Martin spent 12 months and as field sales trainer for Samsung, BCS working with their channel partners to engage in conververged enterprise class solutions for small-to-medium size size business. The solutions we scalable in both capacity and functionality to handle the needs of enterprise level organizations. After the project formally ended, he was often called upon, by the channel partners, to consult on specific projects. Home and business network solutions fundamentally began to emerge as nautral solution to added to our portfolio.

As we emabark on 2010, VCM Network is expanding its service and product offering to include telephony solutions targeting small to medium sized businesses. Business telephopne solutions have seen significant advancements that will improve an organizations productivity, efficiency, connectivity, mobility, management and customer service which all play a significant role in improving revenues and reducing expenses. As a family owned business, we are intently aware of intently aware of the challenges businesses face day-to-day.

VCM Network is located in the Hyde Park community of Chicago, near DuSable Museum, the University of Chicago and the Museum of Science and Industry.
